Another story creator…

While perusing the proper etiquette for tweets and likes I found the following site, Storybird, that I thought was interesting and is kind of like what I was planning on doing for my prototype. It is also very similar to tapastic.

Where’s the innovation then? Encourage the journey along the story line while emboldening the shares and tweets amongst Twitter and Facebook. The readers/players will collaborate with their friends, family and colleagues to continue their journey by unlocking distance traveled, certain paths and items with a click back from a Facebook post or tweet. Sign up is not necessary for friends, family or colleagues to help each other out but a simple re-share or re-tweet is encourage thus to reach a larger audience so that the reader/players can continue on their journey.

Many applications require a user to sign up or install the application to help a person out when all they wanted to do is just help them just this one time. This expectation of the social applications is discouraging to would be users and thus turns them off the application completely. By providing a link with no strings attached it is hoped that it will change the perspective on social games and interactive stories thus inspiring the community to join in on the fun again on their terms. This is one battle that will not be easy to overturn but little by little it is hoped that interactive games/stories on social networks are not viewed in a dark light anymore.

Below are some sketches for the prototype. They will be made into wireframes to display the idea clearer.
