After reading the email from our dear Professor I decided to scrap my other thesis ideas. They seemed a bit mediocre in opinion anyways. This thesis idea that I am about to propose will be revolutionary for building simple websites. I am very excited about it and do not believe that I would tire of it.
So what am I proposing? The idea of building a website completely by voice. how does it work? Using key commands and a voice recognition software users will be able to build a website by speaking key terms. The more savvy they are with HTML and CSS then the more complex they may get with their website. Just like Dreamweaver that offers beginning templates this program will offer that starting point as well. What’s the big deal? And how does it tour in with my ITGM MFA degree? This thesis idea will require all of my knowledge in web design, programming and involve teaching to implement this application. How is it revolutionary for there are already applications out there that do speech to code? These apps only cover python, C, Lisp and do not cover HTML, CSS, JavaScript. Also it requires the user to speak in syntax of the code. What I want to do is use English terms to create the websites. Imagine a six year old able to build a website on a tablet just by saying “I want a page that says… And then I want it to be called… Just imagine how useful that would be?
This project would employ my knowledge of web design to transfer it to a template that a lingo that people would understand. My programming skills would be employed to build the stuff in the background to tie in the key phrases to make the program work.
U am super excited to work on something like this for I can see the usefulness that it has to offer the community.
Of course I would need to do further research and do testing but I feel that this would be THE digital castle my thesis.
What are your thoughts?
