Right now many responsive sites suffer from the fear of doing too much because of the need to view the site on a mobile device. With that in mind the site\u2019s layout is simple with additional embellishment to make it stand out from the rest of the crowd. It is a matter of subtle balance for a responsive site in giving the user a good usability experience while still applying uniqueness to the site\u2019s design.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Possible thesis statement:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><em>The usability success and fail rate of a responsive website is dependent on the subtle balance of its layout for the end user.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Action Plan<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Research<\/strong> \u2013 Conduct surveys on certain responsive websites in regards to their usability and their current design. Find out which size of the responsive template did better with the user and allowed for easier usability.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Design<\/strong> \u2013 Design a responsive site that employs the successful features on the reviewed sites.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Test<\/strong> \u2013 Test the design with the users to gain an understanding of what features did and did not do well on specific devices.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Review and Revise<\/strong> \u2013 Revise the design based off of the tests results and continue to test until a decent amount of pain points of the design have been addressed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Report Findings<\/strong> \u2013 At this point the test results of the design will be compared to other responsive designed sites to form a summary of successful layout techniques for responsive design. It is here that certain unsuccessful areas of responsive design will be highlighted discussing when they would be appropriate if they ever need to be used.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Concerns for this topic:<\/strong><br \/>\nBy depending on the survey results it is my concern that the resulting responsive design will be rather simple.
