As mentioned from my blog post here on blackboard is that I took the winter quarter to re-think my thesis and decided to drop the voice-controlled web building app to pursue something that suits my skills and interests better. What I intend on doing is a central hub website that lists web frameworks that has links to tutorials about them, their file sizes and if they can be customized or minified. The big thing about this site is that it will allow users to narrow down the choices of frameworks to the best one that fits their project criteria. I am aware that there are some sites out there that already do this however I think the questions\/query needs to combine the technologies to give the best possible answer to the framework needs.<\/p>\n

Updated Thesis Statement (WIP):<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The advances of web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript in conjunction of frameworks makes it easier for designers and developers to implement their ideas on the web but it is difficult for one to choose the proper framework that fits their project criteria because of the countless web frameworks that are available on the web. However, by building a site that can suggest a framework based on their project criteria it will allow one to accomplish their project in a more efficient manner.<\/p>\n

Updated Thesis Abstract (WIP):<\/strong><\/h5>\n

While the available frameworks such as BoilerPlate HTML5, Twitter Bootstrap, jQuery and SASS for front-end development that involves HTML, CSS and JavaScript provide the necessary tools to complete projects though it is questioned as to if the correct choice of a web frameworks is the right answer for the project. Some of the frameworks that one may choose could be over-qualified while others may fall short of the project criteria thus requiring the team or person to fulfill the area that the framework did not cover. The number of web frameworks is staggering and there are many out there that have yet to be discovered. By surveying developers and designers of what frameworks that they have used in the past, what their favorite framework is and also the criteria they use when they choose a framework for a project should provide answers that should help illuminate the key points needed or questions that need to be asked in order to filter out web frameworks for the one best suited for their projects. It is expected that by offering a central hub that provides information on web frameworks (e.g. features or supported browsers), offer the ability to filter web frameworks based on project criteria, allow users to add new frameworks to the every growing list and offer links to tutorials and\/or documentation will help bring awareness to less known frameworks and create more efficient projects on the web.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
